Dietvorst lives and works in Ireland since 2010.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eEven in her socially focussed work, Dietvorst finds ways of expressing herself in a highly personal manner, making use of an incredibly wide range of media; along with sculptures and installations, drawing, writing and recently through the creation of visual installations. Her work is focussed on the myriad forms of social communication and interpersonal relationships and conflicts, which she expresses in striking social-artistic projects, such as \u003ci\u003eDe Terugkeer van de Zwaluwen\u003c/i\u003e [The Return of the Swallows] in Brussels\u0026rsquo; Anneessenswijk. The position of the outsider is something Dietvorst specifically focuses on, directing her gaze \u0026ndash; sometimes over the span of several years \u0026ndash; towards those persons and events that would otherwise go unnoticed. At any given moment she can be found collecting these types of snippets and fragments, assembling them in her pieces. This isn\u0026#39;t necessarily to point out injustice, rather her purpose is to personally develop an understanding, to keep track of the bigger picture, and contextualise different events. Her summaries of reality are a visual archive, serving as both mirror and a chamber for reflection.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eHer sculptures too, \u0026minus; crafted from perishable materials such as wood and loam \u0026minus; direct the gaze towards social circumstances such as war, famine and the refugee issue. Dietvorst heeft een specifieke aandacht voor de positie van de buitenstaander en richt haar blik \u0026minus; soms gespreid over meerdere jaren \u0026minus; op personen en gebeurtenissen die anders onopgemerkt zouden voorbijgaan. Ze verzamelt voortdurend dergelijke flarden en fragmenten en brengt ze samen in haar werken. Niet zozeer om op wantoestanden te wijzen, maar veeleer om voor zichzelf inzicht te krijgen, het overzicht te behouden en gebeurtenissen een plaats te geven. Haar samenvattingen van de realiteit vormen een visueel archief dat werkt als een spiegel en reflectiekamer.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eOok met haar sculpturen \u0026minus; vervaardigd uit vergankelijke materialen zoals hout en leem \u0026minus; verwijst ze naar maatschappelijke situaties zoals oorlog, hongersnood en vluchtelingenproblematiek.
