Each character, and even each separate part of the body, speaks of an individuality that is uniquely recognisable and can be universal, precisely for that reason. The works bear witness to youth, a dream, an illusion in relation to a defect. You perceive it immediately, at first sight, something is off, but it\u0026#39;s not irreconcilable. Haar mentale portretten tonen mede ook daardoor geen herkenbare stereotypen, integendeel. Uit elk personage, en zelfs uit elk afgezonderd lichaamsdeel ervan, spreekt een eigenheid die bijzonder herkenbaar is; en net daarom universeel kan worden. Ze getuigen van een jeugd, een droom, een illusie in verhouding tot een mankement. Van bij de eerste aanblik voel je het meteen: er schort iets, maar het is niet onoverkomelijk.
